""The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
Matthew 25:40 NIV
How do you treat others? Not just your "equals", but those less fortunate than yourself or even those vastly more fortunate than you? How we treat others reflects Jesus.
So no matter the circumstances, treat everyone with kindness and humility. Love them like Jesus would. The world could use more of this!
Treat them like you would treat Jesus, if you saw Him, then you will Be Blessed!
At the Kitchen Table... is a simple blog about life, through its ups and downs and recently my journey to become closer to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as I study His word 'at the kitchen table.' Hope you enjoy my thoughts.

Full armor…
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Ephesians 6:10-12 NIV
There is a war raging! The enemy attacks at every side. He will break through every chink in our defenses, if we allow him.
The enemy does not want us to serve the Lord. He does not want us to live a full, and productive life for the Kingdom of God.
We must rise daily, and put on the full armor of God. Every piece is essential in our battle. Guard your mind, your heart and your body against the enemies attacks. Make sure you are filled with God's resources as you take on the day.
The Lord will provide you the strength and power to win the battle and eventually the war, if you will abide in Him. Take His provisions and wear His armor proudly. Then you will Be Blessed!

Walk by the spirit…
"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."
Galatians 5:16 NIV
When I eat sweets, I tend to crave more sweets. But when I am eating healthy, I don't crave those things. When we are surrounded by God, in everything we do, we don't crave the things of this world.
So what are you putting in your body and soul? Are they things of the spirit or things of the flesh?
Fill your life with things of the spirit and you will Be Blessed!

Encourage …
"So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT
Daily encouragement is always a good thing. Encourage your children before they head out to school, encourage your spouse before they head off too work.
Find a group of like minded Christian brothers and sisters and encourage one another.
We all feel better when we are lifted up by one another. And even better when we take the time to encourage others. Surround yourself we others that we build you up and Be Blessed!

Forgetting the past…
"Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:13-14 NIV
Is your past still defining you? Does trauma, sin, relationships or situations from years ago, hold you back from what God has in store for you?
God has forgiven you. His grace and mercy are new every day. He has more in store for you. Stop letting the past define you. Allow God to bestow on you all that He has in store.
Forget what is behind and Be Blessed!

Cleanse me from my sin…
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin."
Psalms 51:1-2 NIV
I love studying David! He just a man that failed often, but he still sought after God's heart! Psalms 51 is David's cry after his sin with Bethsheba.
In OT, to be forgiven, David must cry out to God, repent and offer a sacrifice. Blood must be shed. But because of God's unfailing love and His sacrifice, of His Son; we no longer have to shed that blood. The price has been paid.
But just like David, we will all fail! Just know that the price has been paid. Cry out to God, ask forgiveness and forgive yourself. You are washed clean because of the Blood of the Lamb. Cherish that and Be Blessed!

Family…
"When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, "Woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home."
John 19:26-27 NIV
Jesus left the care of His mother to, His beloved disciple, John. He considered John family and treated Him as such.
"Family" can mean so many things: Parents, a blood relative, a life long friend, a co-worker, and especially your Christian brothers and sisters.
God sees us all as family! He is our Heavenly Father and He never meant for us to do life alone. So when your struggling, down, depressed, in need of some company; I pray you have "family" to lean on.
So like Jesus did, gather some "family" around yourself so in your time of need, you will Be Blessed!

Tell of the Lord’s goodness…
"I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us"
Isaiah 63:7a NIV
What has the Lord done for you lately? Have you told anyone about it? Have you praised Him for His good deeds?
So many times, we focus on what we need and not what He has already done. We tend to be a more, more, more society and not a thankful people.
So today, take a minute and thank the Lord for what He has done! Comment here and let us all know what God has done for you! Be Blessed!

Forgiveness…
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Ephesians 4:32 NIV
Do you find it hard to forgive when someone has really offended you? I do. Especially when they don't ask for forgiveness. Or maybe they didn't even know they offended you.
Jesus didn't come so we could hold a grudge. He came and died for us so we could be forgiven. He wants us to live in harmony with one another.
So don't harbor unforgiveness, life is to short. Let it go and Be Blessed!

Anger…
"Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires."
James 1:20 NLT
Do you ever get just "down right angry"? Maybe it's for a legitimate reason or maybe not. But you just get so mad that you can't stand yourself. I have and still do.
Anger is an emotion but how we act upon it is what matters. Lashing out at our spouse, children or co-workers does nothing but negatively affect our testimony for Christ.
So next time you get "mad", and you will; don't let it destroy the righteousness that God has instilled in you! Take some time to pray, praise and unwind. Then you will Be Blessed!

Answered prayers…
"I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me….that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever."
Psalms 30:1, 12 NIV
Psalms 30 is David's dedication of the temple. He is encouraging others to recognize when they were down and defeated but God saved them. He encourages us to praise God forever for His wonderful works.
That reminds me of all the answered prayers I have had over the years, did I thank God for them? Did I take time to praise Him for those answers? Or did I just keep asking for more, more, more?
Reflect back on all those answered prayers. The big, the little, the important and even the insignificant (sometimes I pray for a parking spot, and one opens up). Thank God, right now, for all the answered prayers and continue to Be Blessed!

Listen…
"The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening.""
1 Samuel 3:10 NIV
Sometimes we are so busy with our agenda or our "ask" from God that we forget to listen. We forget that prayer is a conversation not just a "God ATM".
God wants to mold you and guide you. He wants to give you advise, He wants to tell you how much He loves you!
Take your prayer time today to stop and listen. Hear what God has for you and you will Be Blessed!

Ultimate Service…
"just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.""
Matthew 20:28 NIV
Jesus was, and is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. But unlike earthly royals, who have hundreds of servants attending to their every need, Jesus came to serve us.
Yesterday, we honored the day that Jesus served us in the ultimate fashion. He gave His life as a ransom for us . He served us in a way that only He could.
Don't just remember His sacrifice on Easter. Thank Him daily, make Him your Lord and King and Be Blessed!

The punishment…
"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5 NIV
The book of Isaiah prophesied Jesus suffering hundreds of years before His death. Jesus would suffer unimaginably punishment. But why? He suffered for you and me.
The sin debt had to be paid, and God loves us so much that He paid it for us. Jesus did not want us to have to endure that punishment. He took those stripes, the beating, the mocking, the crucifixion and the death: for you!
Today, on Good Friday, as we remember His death, thank Him for taking your punishment. Spend some time today, remembering all that He suffered for you and Be Blessed!

Do or listen…
"But the Lord said to her, "My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.""
Luke 10:41-42 NLT
Mary and Martha: two sisters that chose different task when Jesus came to visit. Mary chose to sit at Jesus feet and listen to the Master. Martha chose to serve and do what needed to be done for the Master.
Which one is right? In my opinion, both! There is a time to serve, and all of us "do'ers" usually chose that route. Then there is a time to be still and listen. Both have there time and place. I have to force myself to stop and listen. (I'm a do'er.)
Sometimes God needs us to serve, other times He needs us to listen. This Easter weekend, take a moment serve and a moment to listen. For both, you will Be Blessed!

The vine…
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me."
John 15:4 NLT
How much more productive can we be when we remain close to God? We can try to do things ourselves and we may get some things accomplished but when we add God to the mix, it multiplies!!
Like the vine, God is our source! He fills us with the things we need to succeed. He allows us to be over abundantly fruitful!!
Whatever your doing, weather it be work, finances, relationships, service…etc; make sure God is attached to it. It will be successful and you will Be Blessed!

He must be greater…
"He must become greater; I must become less.""
John 3:30 NIV
Sometimes, I struggle with this one. I'm very extroverted and love to be the center of attention. I must remember when I am serving, that it is not about me, but all about Him!
God must always be first, in everything we do! He must be our sole focus and the reason we do what we do.
When I make it about me, I get satisfaction for a moment. When I truly make it about Him then I will always, Be Blessed!

Your forgiven…
"Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit."
Psalms 32:1-2 NIV
Do you remember all your sins from the past? All your failures and faults? Most of us do and we hold it against ourselves!
But God doesn't! If we have asked forgiveness and repented, then God doesn't remember your sins! Isn't that wonderful!
So no matter your past, you are forgiven. God can still use you for the upbuilding of His kingdom. Cherish His forgiveness and Be Blessed!
