So this week was our first full week together at our new travel assignment. Lynn and the puppies got moved in and she went to orientation. Luckily, she loved the apartment that I had rented. It is on a golf course with a lake behind it and is super nice. We are right next to the club house and have all the amenities we could ask for, pool, golf, gym, walking trail, etc. It has been really great.
We started work and have met a ton of new people. Everyone has been super nice and friendly. Even though we have been nurses for 25 years, each hospital does things a little differently. That is the biggest challenge, to figure out how they do it and pick that up instead of going back to your old ways. It seems like your learning something new, but it is just really a new way of doing the same thing.
Then we had our first night off, a Friday night. We were able to meet up with Brice and Ashley, some old friends from Faith Church that had moved down here a year earlier. We had a good dinner and got to have some Parker-time with their son, Parker. We ate a a new restaurant called the 'Brass Tap', it was a nice new bar, even though we don't drink, it had great food!!
As far as Isaac and Izzy, they are acclimating well. They made it for 13.5 hours in the apartment by themselves without an accident. Then we were blessed to find a wonderful dog sitter, Melissa, she comes and sees them at night around 1030 pm to let them out to pee and exercise for a little while. Lucy and myself are also getting plenty of exercise taking the pups to walk daily. Plus walking around the golf course and lake is beautiful!!.
Anyway, we are wrapping up our first full week together in this new adventure and it has been great!! After 15 years of marriage, we are getting some us time! God is blessing us tremendously.
