"Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes."
Psalms 37:7 NLT
Waiting is never fun! Waiting in line for an amusement park ride. Waiting in line for coffee or to get into the theater. We are an instant gratification society and waiting is not our best attribute. Especially when we see others immediately prosper.
So waiting on God is even more difficult. Abraham and Sarah waiting years, even decades to have a child. But when we wait in the Lord, patiently and faithfully, the results are so worth it.
What are you waiting for? God will provide, in His time and you will Be Blessed!
At the Kitchen Table... is a simple blog about life, through its ups and downs and recently my journey to become closer to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as I study His word 'at the kitchen table.' Hope you enjoy my thoughts.

Tired…
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
Galatians 6:9 ESV
Do you every get tired of life's walk? Tired of praying for the same thing, year after year. Tired of serving and never seeing the harvest. Tired of watching non-Christian's succeed when you struggle to make ends meet.
God tells us not to give up! The harvest is coming. Maybe not today, maybe not after 6 years of prayer, but, in God's time, He will reap the harvest.
So keep pushing, keep praying, keep doing good and you will Be Blessed!!

Filth…
"So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls."
James 1:21 NLT
A few years ago I really liked a new show that had just come out. But it was filled with filth every other word and lots of murder and lies. My wife even walked away when it was on. I finally stopped watching.
Some people may say, it's just a show or it's just words. And I did too, for a while. But we eventually become what we fill our lives with and who we surround ourselves with. The devil uses small things, like a show or a advertisement to click on to bring us down.
Fill your heart with the word of God, plant it in your heart and Be Blessed!

Yoked…
"Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?"
2 Corinthians 6:14 NLT
Who do you hang out with? Who are your business partners? Paul tells us not to team up or be "yoked" with unbelievers. Our parents always told us to pick our friends wisely because we will become who we hang out with.
This is not to say: stay away from the unbeliever because how else could we share the gospel and Christ love. We must show them Christ through us.
But your inner circle, the ones you ask for advise, the ones you rely upon; make sure they are Christians that you can look up too. I am proud to say, I have a few Godly men that I could go to at a moments notice when I need them.
Pick your friends wisely and Be Blessed!

Rescue you…
""He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me."
2 Samuel 22:17-18 NIV
How many times has my God rescued me? That number is far too many to count. What about you?
You see, God doesn't just sit on His throne and reign. He is not like a general who directs the war from His safe place. He is amongst us, fighting for us and with us, and when the battle gets to great for us, He rescues us!
So when your surrounded, when you in the deep waters, look for Him. He is there to rescue you so you can Be Blessed!

Common ground…
"So then, make it your top priority to live a life of peace with harmony in your relationships, eagerly seeking to strengthen and encourage one another."
Romans 14:19 TPT
Do you try and find common ground with others? Or do you argue your point, trying to convince them that your option is the better one?
In today's political environment brothers argue with brothers, and no one seems to want to find common ground. But as believers we are held to a high standard. Paul tells us to live in harmony with each other.
So step out of your comfort zone, find a common ground and Be Blessed!

Words…
"People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. Likewise, out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words."
Luke 6:45 TPT
Have you ever been around that person that drags everyone down by what they say? Do they bring they mood of the environment to a dreary level.
How about the person that lifts everyone up? Who brightens the room when they walk in?
Which person are you. What is in your heart? Your words tell what is in your heart. Are your words demeaning and hurtful? Or are they uplifting and helpful?
Show the love of God, that's in your heart, through the words you speak and Be Blessed!

Prayer…
"Then Jesus told them, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, 'May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.""
Matthew 21:21-22 NLT
Prayer is such a powerful thing, it is an untapped resource that so many of us fail at. My prayer life has been better in the past and it has been worse. But it is one of the most important parts of the Christian walk.
We all, want so many things: a reconciliation, peace, contentment or maybe even a miracle. But are we asking God, really asking? Keep knocking on God's door, don't give up until you get an answer and have the faith that He will see it through.
Go to God in prayer and Be Blessed!

Search the scriptures…
"They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth."
Acts of the Apostles 17:11 NLT
Do you listen to that bible podcast and take it as fact? Or maybe that TV preacher or even your very own pastor?
Learning the scripture under Godly leadership is essential, but we must seek the truth by studying for ourselves. Being spoon fed is not how a mature Christian should learn. Open your bible daily. Read the scriptures yourself, pray for knowledge and discernment.
You might not remember everything you heard on Sunday, but the word of God will be implanted in your heart and soul when you read and study for yourself. Then you will Be Blessed!

Miracles…
"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."
Ephesians 3:20 NLT
There are times and seasons in my life that I hope for a miracle. Now is one of those times. But I struggle to believe that God can accomplish that or that I am anywhere near worthy of a miracle.
But His word tells us that He is capable to accomplish more than we might ask or think. So how do we have enough faith to believe for those miracles? How do we put aside the human doubt and trust in His mighty power.
For the miracle of divine healing, for the miracle of reconciliation, for the miracle of peace in our lives. I believe!
Be Blessed!

Live a good life…
"Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us."
1 Peter 2:12 NIV
Christians are attacked daily throughout the world. We are accused to living wrong or being closed minded. But we must continue to live a life worthy of Christ. We must not give into "political correctness" and deny our Lord.
They will see the love of Christ, they will see that we are true and trustworthy. They will see that we serve the one true God.

Paradise…
"Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.""
Luke 23:42-43 NIV
The thief on the cross, during his time of death, asked Jesus to remember him. And through Jesus own pain and suffering, forgave the thief and saved him.
It doesn't matter what you have done in your past or when you decide to turn to Jesus. He will be there waiting for you. He will forgive you and save you. Jesus paid the price for your sins so that you can be with him in paradise.
Thank Him for His sacrifice and Be Blessed!

The cross…
"A certain man from Cyrene, Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross."
Mark 15:21 NIV
Sometimes, we must take up our cross and follow Jesus. (Mark 8:34) Life is mot easy and sometimes God ask difficult things of us. But no matter how tough that cross is to bear, remember we just have to carry it for a little way, Jesus died upon it so you didn't have too.
Stay focused on the Savior! Know that good will come out of the heavy burden. Pick up the cross like Simon and thank God that you just have to carry it, not die upon it.
Jesus paid it all, trust Him and Be Blessed!

Love one another…
""A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
John 13:34 NIV
It was the last supper and Judas had just left to go betray Jesus. The works were in motion and Jesus would be crucified and die the next day. But what command does He give to His disciples: "Love one another."
You see, Jesus death was not an act of satan or evil, it was an act of love. No one has ever loved you so much. Not you spouse, not you father, not even your mother. Jesus love is never ending so much that He laid down His life for you and me.
So take His command to heart, go love one another, and Be Blessed!

I will carry you…
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."
Isaiah 46:4 NIV
He is not just the God of our youth. He will not leave you or toss you away when you become old and grey. He will be there with you through all times.
How wonderful it is to know that our God will never leave us. When the world dismisses us and our youth leaves us, our God will be there to carry us.
Thank the Lord today for always being there for us and Be Blessed!

Fully Human…
"For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people."
Hebrews 2:17 NIV
Hebrews 2:17 NIV
Jesus became fully human in flesh and blood so He could be like us. So He could know the struggles your going through.
How might Jesus relate to the struggle you're facing right now? What keeps you from leaning on Him in this moment?
Thank You, Jesus, for taking on a human form to relate to me in my struggles and pay for my wrongdoings. I want to trust You more.
Trust that Jesus knows what your going through and Be Blessed!

Are you ready…
"So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."
Matthew 24:44 NIV
Are you ready to meet Jesus? Do you know Him as your Lord and Savior? Have you led a life worthy of Him? Have you shared the gospel with those your responsible for?
Many questions hit me when I think about Jesus returning. Don't waste a day or minute because you will never know when He will return.
Be prepared and Be Blessed!

Conversation…
"Let your conversation be always full of grace,"
Colossians 4:6a NIV
How often do we take the time to have a conversation with someone? In today's world of emails and text messages, we lose the human contact.
God did not create us to be alone. Take a moment to invest some time in one another. Share what God has done for you, ask what God can do for them and how you can pray for them.
Try a good conversation and Be Blessed!

Doers of the word…
"But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves."
James 1:22 NLT
So many times we read our devotion or we listen to a message at church, then we go out and have road rage on the way home or get made at our waitress because she messed up our order.
Doesn't take long to through everything we read or hear straight out the window. We must do better than that, we must take God's word to heart and apply it to our daily lives.
We must be doers of the word, if we will then we will Be Blessed!

Our accomplishments…
"I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land. But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me."
Hosea 13:5-6 NLT
How often do we seek God when we are in trouble times? But during the good times, we forget Him.
During the good times, we tend to attribute it to our personal success. But make no mistake, God gave you that success. Everything we have accomplished or accumulated is because of Him. We are just stewards of all that He gives us.
So don't become proud and forget Him. Thanks Him through the good times and the bad and Be Blessed!

The whole body…
"He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love."
Ephesians 4:16 NLT
As a body of Christ, we all have special gifts and talents. We use them as a part of God's bigger plan. And God meshes them all together, perfectly.
Recently, I witnessed a larger SERVE project. Some people were digging post holes, some were hauling wood, others were cooking, some were praying over the broken hearted. But together, they were blessing people in a way that could not have happened individually.
No matter what your talent or gift, God can use you. Trust His plan and Be Blessed!

God’s words…
"Whatever was written beforehand is meant to instruct us in how to live. The Scriptures impart to us encouragement and inspiration so that we can live in hope and endure all things."
Romans 15:4 TPT
God left us instructions for life. They are never changing and meant for all times and situations. Those words provide us hope and inspiration.
But those words, His words, only help when we read them and live them. Are you spending time in His word today? If you are then you will Be Blessed!
