The writer of Proverbs is discussing how to stay away from a prostitutes house but it means so much more. Stay away from any type of temptations. Keep yourself in a place where you don't even go near temptations door.
Place barriers, rules and practices in your life that keep you far away from temptations of the devil. Have someone who hold you accountable.
No matter what type of sin it is, place every obstacle in your path that will help you avoid it. And the best one is the word of God and a relationship with the Heavenly Father.

Communication…
"O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls; they will pray day and night, continually. Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord."
Isaiah 62:6 NLT
As I continue to look at prayer this week. I wonder, what is our first response to adversity? Do we jump in reactively without thinking or praying? Or have we been praying continuously? Letting our Father know what's going on in our lives.
Praying continuously helps us when the problems arise. We don't have to react, we are already prayed up and now we just have to turn it over to God. We have been in communication with Him and can rest knowing that He is in control.
Talk to your Heavenly Father and Be Blessed!

Forgiveness…

"If he comes to you, welcome him." Paul was referring to Mark. You see Paul and Mark had a falling out and departed ways for a time. But they eventually forgave one another and reconciled. Paul was telling the church that Mark was coming and to greet him well.
Have you ever had a falling out with someone? Maybe a good friend, but something small happened and it blew up. Maybe a disagreement with a family member. I have had both, and have suffered the consequences.
Life is short and God wants us to love one another. Forgive each other. Tell them your sorry, even if you don't think it's your fault. Oh how I wish I could take back the mistakes of my past.
Don't let unforgivness hamper your walk with God. Let it go and Be Blessed!

Say Yes…

Moses protested the Lord using him to become the leader of the Israelites. He did not speak well and was afraid he could not do the task the Lord had ask.
But God always provides a way. He sent Moses' brother, Aaron to speak for him and together they led a nation to freedom.
Have you ever told God you couldn't do something? That you were equipped for that task? God will always provide a way, He is just looking for people to say "yes" to whatever He ask.

Favoritism…

Powerful words from Peter. God doesn't show favoritism! It doesn't matter if your a head of state, a king of a country, a single mom or a homeless veteran: God treats everyone the same.
Everyone has the opportunity to know Him as Lord, just as everyone has the same opportunity to reject Him.

Burning coals…
"On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.""

Dealing with difficult people can be exhausting. I know, I have been that difficult person in the past. But God tells us to bless them. To give them your burning coals.
You see, burning coals in ancient times were very important. If you coals went out, you would freeze at night, you couldn't start your fire in the morning, you couldn't cook or have hot water. And to give your enemy burning coals was to give them something very important and potentially lifesaving.
So when we face those difficult people at work or out shopping, be kind to them. Smile, don't argue, love on them the way God would and Be Blessed!

As we start small groups this week, I am reminded that Jesus called us to feed people. In this text He meant it literally, to feed 5,000 hungry followers. But He wants us to, not only feed peoples bodies, but their souls as well.
We must share the gospel with those that have never heard it. We must share God's love to those who have never felt it. We must be His hands and feet.
Maybe it's a hot meal or a kind word. In the end you will Be Blessed!

Whom I love…
"And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.""

The moment Jesus was baptized, God spoke these words from heaven. He knew what Jesus had committed too, His own death. A death for you and me.
And as much as God loved Jesus at that moment, can you imagine how much more God loved us? He was committing His son to death, for us.
Let's not let that sacrifice be in vain. Do something today, deserving of that love. I do t know about you but I can't wait to hear those words from the father myself, "I love you and I am well please by you!"

God always provides. He provides for the earth, for the wild animals. He provides for the tiniest living creatures. So why do we think that God won't provide for us.
I have been through some tough times in my past. Financially, emotionally and spiritually, but one thing always rang true. God provided when I needed it most, but only when I put my trust in Him.
God loves you so much and wants to take care of you! Put your trust in Him and Be Blessed!

So have you ever been in a situation where you could help someone but decided not to get involved? Maybe a single Mom who needed help loading her groceries. Or a homeless individual in need of a hot meal. A coworker that seems depressed and needs a friend but you don't want to get involved.
That little voice in your head that says, "Hey do this!", but you ignore it. That's God's way of telling you to get involved. He needs you to be His hands and feet.
So next time you hear that little voice, step out of your comfort zone and do the right thing. Trust me, you will Be Blessed!

Actions and truth…

Actions speak louder than words! I can tell my wife every day that I love her, but if I treat her badly she will not believe me. But if I tell her I love her and I help around the house, and treat her kindly, she knows that I love her.
We can do the same with strangers or acquaintances. We can tell them we love them and be praying for them, or we can show them by an act of kindness. Which do you think they will see as real love.

Anger itself is not a sin. In fact, Jesus got angry. But He did not sin when He got angry.
Too many times we let our emotions get the best of us and the devil uses it to cause us to sin. We get angry and we say words that hurt, we get angry and get physical, we get angry and we hold a grudge.
Emotions are Ok, it is what we do with them that can be good or bad. So take a deep breath and do not sin. In the end, you will Be Blessed.

Sleep…

Maybe it is just me, but the enemy attacks me when I sleep. I wake and have thoughts of fear and anxiety. I worry about today's and tomorrow problems or I just have an overwhelming sense of doom.
My resolution, I pray. I talk to God and let Him deal with those anxieties and fears. Some times I just repay His name over and over. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!
Then my sleep is sweet and I awaken to Be Blessed!

Nature…
"God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good."

In modern time and with city life, we tend to forget God's beauty. God made so many different things in nature for us to enjoy, and He gave us dominion over it all.
Just tonight, not 25 feet from my back door, we 5 deer playing and eating corn. It makes me smile every time I see them. God created them and knows every hair on their body.
So take a break, take a walk or a hike, head to a state park and enjoy the nature God created. Take some time to enjoy His nature and Be Blessed!!

I am a new man because of Him and so are you. So stop beating yourself up because of your past. God has forgiven you, now it is time to forgive yourself and let Him make you a new creation.
Let go of the past and let God make you knew so you can Be Blessed!

Amazing to me are the transformations of the drug addict, the porn watcher, the spouse abuser when they give their life to God. All good things come from Him.

Helping hand…

God considers us all His children. As a father, if my child was in need, and I could not be there, I would hope someone would help them.
When we face someone in need, think about what we can do to help. It might be that they just need a listening ear. Maybe a meal or a helping hand. God wants us to help one another, we were not created to do life alone.
So when you bless someone else, you are blessing God, but in the end, you will Be Blessed!
