"Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace.""
Luke 7:50 NIV
Reading today about the woman who washed Jesus feet with her tears and then put perfume on them. Such a great task for her, she had sinned greatly and she gave all she had, a very expensive bottle of perfume, to the Master.
But what jumped out to me was that Jesus don't forgive her because she washed His feet or because she gave an expensive gift. He forgave her and saved her because of her faith.
We can do amazing things, donate all the money and good we have, but without faith in the Master, it is all for naught. Where does your faith lie? Mine lies in the one who gave His life for me. Show great faith and Be Blessed!
At the Kitchen Table... is a simple blog about life, through its ups and downs and recently my journey to become closer to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as I study His word 'at the kitchen table.' Hope you enjoy my thoughts.

Lifted hands…
"As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning."
Exodus 17:11 NIV
Have you ever noticed that when your doing what God ask, your winning. But when you stop doing what He ask, you start losing. As long as Moses hands were held high to God, the Israelites were winning.
I have seen this in my own life, as probably most Christians. When we are in God's will, we are winning at life. Being obedient to God is essential.
So lift your hands, do as God ask and Be Blessed!

Peace…
"Live in harmony with each other. Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all!"
Romans 12:16 NLT
So much can be learned from this single verse. Just live in peace with one another. Don't look down on people and feel like you can't be seen with someone. Some of the nicest people I have met have been homeless and they were asking me how I was doing.
God wants us to love each other, to help each other. Not everyone knows everything and you can learn so much from others.
Take the opportunity to spend some time with a person you wouldn't normally hang out with. You might learn something and I bet you will Be Blessed!

A gift…
"I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God."
Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 NIV
Nothing brings me more joy than Serving others. Weather it is cooking a meal for a family or for 500, or building a set of steps or mowing a neighbors yard. God allows me to use my talents to bless others and when I do, I am the one that ends up blessed.
Find satisfaction in your toil, it is a gift from God; and Be Blessed!

Real love….
"This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first. If someone says, "I love God," but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers."
1 John 4:10-21 NLT
John said it best, God is love and expects us to show His love to others.
Be Blessed!

Potter’s hand…
"But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" declares the Lord. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel."
Jeremiah 18:4-6 NIV
Sometimes we feel that we can't be used by God. Maybe because of our past sins, we feel unworthy. Or maybe we don't feel like we have anything to contribute to the Kingdom.
But God is the great potter, He can take a messed up piece of clay, like us, and make something beautiful out of it. So let God mold you and make you into what He envisions for you.
Trust His process, in the end, you will Be Blessed!

Where are you…
"And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?""
Genesis 3:8-9 ESV
Have you ever sinned and tried to hide it from God? That's exactly what Adam and Eve were doing. Now God didn't have to asked "Where are you?" He knew where they were and why they were hiding. He wanted them to know that He was seeking them out.
We can't hide our sins or ourselves from God. But rest assured, God is seeking you out. He wants a relationship with you. He wants you to know He cares.
So meet Him in the garden, sins and all. God still loves you and wants you to Be Blessed!

No excuse…
"For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse."
Romans 1:20 ESV
I love to hike, to spend time out in nature. God beauty and splendor amaze me at times. But it amazes me that some people still think their was not a divine Creator.
To see the animals, the waterfalls, the stars and all that surrounds us, I can't imagine that it all happened by chance. But yet, people still make and excuse.
Time will come, when their are no longer excuses and every knee will bow and acknowledge that He is God. But for now, take time to enjoy His creations, marvel in His glory and Be Blessed!

Learning…
"Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles."
Proverbs 1:5-6 ESV
As a medical professional, when I don't know something, I research and study. I seek out those with more knowledge than myself and glean from them.
As Christian's we should do the same. Study God's word, research it. Read commentaries and books from trusted pastors and authors. Seek out a mature Christian and listen to their words.
You will not regret the time you spend in God's word and the knowledge you will gain from it. Time well spent so you can Be Blessed!

Words…
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
Proverbs 15:1 NIV
Father, give us the words to say that will bring healing and life to others. Forgive us for the words that we have said in the past that brought hurt and anger.
Help us to show others your love, in everything that we do and say. Let others see God in us. Thank you for entrusting us to be you disciples so that others may Be Blessed!

Friends…
"Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble."
Proverbs 13:20 NLT
We all had that friend growing up that our parents didn't approve of, the one we shouldn't be hanging out with. It is said that you will become like your 5 closest friends.
Hang out with fit/healthy people, you will pick up their habits and become fit. Hang out with wealthy people and do what they do financially, you will become wealthy. Hang out with crooks and theives you will eventually become one.
Find a core group of mature Christian friends, do what they do. Glean their biblical and life knowledge. Grow and learn from them. End the end, you will be better for it and you will Be Blessed!

A plan for good…
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people."
Genesis 50:20 NLT
Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery. But he continued to worship and serve God. He knew God had a plan, a plan bigger than he could currently see.
So what are you going through today? Sickness, hardship, loneliness, anxiety…whatever it is, remember God has a plan. We see our 3 foot world but God sees the 30,000 foot view. He knows that's what is going on today, can be used for the greater good!
So trust God's plan, keep worshiping and serving Him and you will Be Blessed!

Trust in the provider…
"Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment."
1 Timothy 6:17 NLT
Have you ever met someone who has everything? All the latest gadgets, newest phone and fancy car. But when you look inside that person, they are miserable and they think that more money will make them happy. They are searching for something to make them whole.
Now, I'm not against money, or rich people. As a matter of fact, I believe God wants to generously bless you beyond your wildest belief. But we are just stewards of God blessings and should not trust in the blessings themselves. We must trust in the provider!!
Only when we trust in the Provider will we truly Be Blessed!

Faith of a touch…
"She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, "If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed." Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my robe?""
Mark 5:27-28, 30 NLT
Such faith! The woman didn't want a meeting with Jesus, she didn't need Him to lay hands on her and pray for her, she just needed to touch His robe. Faith so big that a simple touch could heal her.
Now what was Jesus' response? He felt her faith and recognized it. God will recognize your faith, no matter how big or small. He will acknowledge it and reward it.
Oh to have that kind of faith, the kind where a touch can heal you! Let's build our faith so we can Be Blessed!

Giving….
"Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop."
2 Corinthians 9:6 NLT
How much are you planting? Do you feel like you don't receive a blessing? Maybe your not using all your gifts and talents for God's kingdom.
When we give of our time, our money, our resources, and our gifts; we are blessed exponentially in return. But don't give out of legalism, do it because you love God and want to bless others.
Giving and serving others out of a joyful heart leads to a life where you will Be Blessed!

Treasures…
""Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be."
Matthew 6:19-21 NLT
How many of us have so many material possessions that we need a storage unit? Or our attic and closets are full? What could we do with all this stuff to help people in need?
But what about your heavenly treasures? Have you invested in God's kingdom? Have you had the pleasure of leading someone to Christ? When you stand before the Lord, will He say "We'll done!"
Sometimes our possessions can become our God. Let's change that focus and bring more souls to God's kingdom. Those can of treasures lead to a life where you will Be Blessed!

God in our midst…
"The Lord your God is in your midst, A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy."
Zephaniah 3:17 AMP
Now that is a good word! God is among us, He is always here. He is a warrior, fighting for your soul! He never brings up your past failures! And He rejoices over you!
Man, does our God love us or what? I read this this morning and it just made me smile to know how much God loves me!
Read it again, then let it sink in! Your God loves you and wants you to Be Blessed!

Encourage one another…
"For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 NLT
Has anyone every given you an encouraging word? Maybe 'you look nice today', or 'good job on that project.' An encouraging word can change someone's whole day. It doesn't have to be much, just say something nice to one another today.
Christ did not die for us so we could walk around being grump-a-lumps all the time. He wants us to live a life of victory! He wants us to live in harmony! He wants us to lift each other up when we're down.
So take a moment today, tell someone an encouraging word. Watch their demeanor change and see how you will Be Blessed!

Actions speak louder…
"Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions."
1 John 3:18 NLT
As Christians we can say all the time that we love everyone, but what do our actions say? Are we the guy on the block that proclaims to be a Christian but want help the elderly lady next door mow her yard. Maybe we are the woman in church that says 'I'll pray for you', but she won't cook you a meal when your sick.
The old saying goes, 'Actions speak louder than words!' We can talk all day long but until we show someone love it's just words.
So take some time out of your day, mow a yard, cook a meal. In the end, you will Be Blessed!

Generous giving…
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him."
Psalms 24:1 NLT
"Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed."
Proverbs 11:24-25 NLT
So when we are generous are will really giving away what is ours? David tells us "no", everything and everyone belong to God. So when we are generous, we are giving what God has entrusted us with.
Dave Ramsey, a financial speaker, tells us that we are just "managers" of everything that God has given us, all of the money, possessions, talents and gifts. Our job is to manage it well for God's kingdom. And like any good manager, the better you handle what you have been given, the more you will be given to manage.
God doesn't want to entrust His blessings to someone who doesn't manage it well.
So give generously, not only financially but also of your talents and gifts. In return, you will Be Blessed!
